Statement Necklaces

Statement necklaces and I have a love hate relationship. I can't seem to go without my favorite statement necklace. The problem is I find some statement necklaces butt ugly. Here's my opinion on a good statement necklace versus a bad statement necklace.

The Bad Kind:

This is what I call the Cleopatra look. This necklace is way to big and someone should only be seen wearing this on Halloween.

This is what I call the baby bib. This is NOT a cute necklace! This is called a statement necklace for a reason.. the statement is that you have no style and are feeling nostalgic about those baby hood days.

This is called the big fat liar. Sorry ladies but if you are wearing a gem this big and you aren't rich or famous... that thing is not real! The problem with these types of necklaces is they end up looking cheep and ugly. All you end up wearing is a giant colored FAKE rock in the middle of your chest.

This is called the Atlanta Aquarium. These balls clumped together remind me a lot of the sea creatures and coral reefs you can find in the Atlanta aquarium. The statement "go big or go home" does not apply here! I would just tell you to go home and hide in shame if I saw you wearing this ugly thing around your neck. This just looks like a very painful infinity scarf that draws in wayyy to much attention.

This one is the final one I promise :) I call this one the tassel hassle. This statement necklace takes me back to the 70's (when I wasn't even alive) when tassels were in style. What are people thinking trying them back? They went out of style for a reason!

Okay now onto why I love statement necklaces. I am a simple type of girl so to find the right statement necklace for me takes quite a while. Here are some of my favorite types and why I love them so much.

I love this one because of the design elements in it. The fact that the beads are put into a pattern that resembles flowers is so creative to me.

I love the color mint. Most days I will have something on that has mint in it. This statement necklace is perfect for a splash of color with any outfit!

Again with the mint color :) My final favorite necklace is shorter and smaller than the rest. This necklace catches my eye with the great pattern and short length. One of my favorites by far!

A statement necklace can say a lot about a person. Just make sure that it says the right thing!

Pretty in Pink Party

So valentines day is coming up and I wanted to do a valentines day party! The problem is I think Valentines day party's can be really cheesy... so I changed the name and made it a little bit more grown up. Get ready to have a Pretty in Pink party :)

Here are some of the ideas I have found...

Raspberries with white chocolate chips inside!

Small cupcakes with hearts <3

Or if you don't like the cupcake idea how about an ombred hugs and kisses cake? (or why not do both? you can never  have too many sweets!)

Or pretzels covered in chocolate with heart sprinkles?

To top it all off how about these champagne bottles?

For the kiddos how about milk and cookies?  For the hearts in the milk put red die in milk and freeze it. Then you will have cute ice hearts that the kids will love!

Everyone will love these handmade mason jar lemonades! :)

One last think that will make your party a hit is this cute photo booth background!

Also don't forget props for your photo booth. Props always make things fun :)

Okay well those are all the ideas I've found that are not lame haha :) Hope you have a great valentines day! I know I will :)
